Ronald Gault
Ron has been quantifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks in complex systems for over 52 years.
Founded Ronald Gault Consulting in 2006
Systems Engineer and Risk Analyst
Conducting risk assessments of complex systems including nuclear weapons command and control systems
Ron obtained a Bachelors of Engineering degree with emphasis in electronics and a Masters of Engineering degree with emphasis in systems engineering both from the University of Redlands. He started his career with TRW in 1969 working on the then largest program ever attempted by the US Government, the Air Force's Minuteman Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) program. TRW is the company that instituted the process of systems engineering for the Air Force as systems engineering and technical advisors for the ICBM program. Ron worked in the program office specializing in nuclear command and control and nuclear safety - learning the science of using automated processes to safely and securely control the functioning of very complex systems. During this time, he worked extensively in collaboration with the US Air Force, National Security Agency (NSA) and numerous other Federal Government agencies in areas of risk assessment, information assurance, software reliability and security, certification of cryptologic devices, policy development, and designing and certifying secure information processing systems.
While performing his work in the ICBM program, Ron also took time to respond to requests to support other branches of the U.S. military and Federal Government in performing risk assessments on Army and Navy nuclear weapons systems, and projects with NSA and the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. Ron served as the subject matter expert (SME) for conducting numerous risk analyses and often served as the project team leader. In 2006, he transitioned to a part-time position with the ICBM program and formed RGC to consult with the commercial world in the areas of risk management, policy development, and information security on information systems for organizations including Luther Middlfort Mayo Medical Facilities, various colleges of Northwestern University, Cayman Island Health Services Agency, and Ecolab Inc.
Ron loves his northern Utah home where he enjoys skiing, biking, fly fishing and backpacking. For more about Ron's broad information systems and risk management experience please see the following links:
Jesse Glidden, P.E.
Risk & Data Analyst
Information Systems Developer
Licensed Professional Engineer
Jesse Glidden is the team lead in developing Microsoft solutions for security divisions within organizations. Some of these solutions include
Azure SQL Server databases
Azure ASP.NET web applications
Azure security features such as MFA, VPN's, AD, backup solutions, etc.
PowerBI reports and dashboards
Quantitative risk analysis (QRA) models that support cybersecurity frameworks based on NIST, ISO, and other information security standards.
Jesse is a Professional Engineer with several engineering degrees. Jesse understands the balance between risk and cost from the planning, implementation and operational levels. He has extensive experience in relational database design and development, business information systems, performance management through key performance indicators, statistical analysis, and quantitative risk analysis. He has lived in foreign countries, studied several foreign languages, and understands the intricacy of diversity. Jesse has a home in Northern Utah where he hikes, skis, and bikes; as well as on the Atlantic Coast of New Brunswick, Canada, where he enjoys boating, fishing, and hunting in the Maritime environment.
Rachelle Niemann
Risk & Systems Analyst
Electrical Engineer
Compliance Assessment and Security Awareness Training
Rachelle is a risk and systems analyst. She has broad experience with integrating an information security culture into corporate culture. She has implemented security awareness training across a large international audience and has experience with performing risk assessments, analyzing trends, and implementing remediation for Industrial Control Systems. She assists in developing policies, standards, and procedures for information security programs.
Rachelle is an electrical engineer who has gained valuable complex system analysis experience as an ICBM nuclear surety engineer, which naturally transitioned well into information security. In previous roles, she and Mr. Gault have been responsible for organizing, testing, and operating a database of nuclear weapon risks for the Air Force Nuclear Surety community. This risk program requires continual review for and evaluating new threats, and presenting simple and concise risk information needed for decision makers to make rational and practical decisions. She has been the principal engineer in supporting the efforts necessary to nuclear design certify a command and control upgrade to the Minuteman ICBM system using a new cryptographic algorithm supplied by NSA. Rachelle is always seeking adventure and loves to spend her time outdoors in her time off with her husband Phil and dog Mali.
Heidi Finch
CMMI Advocate
AS9100 certified auditor
Command Media Designer
Heidi has a business degree with an emphasis on Business Systems Technologies and is AS9100 certified in configuration management, policies, and auditing. One of the biggest weakness found in IT audits of large corporations is the lack of written policy and procedures. Heidi has dealt with these issues and knows what level of documentation is required, how to get it in place, provide training and awareness, and make it accessible to the workforce. She has extensive corporate documentation, configuration management, and command media experience, and lead RGC's effort to compile a library of IT policies from previous projects that it uses as a base line in composing specific policies for a given organization. Heidi also teaches business computing applications at a local technical college. Heidi and Ron also perform volunteer work for a local Town Council to help write/format policies/ordinances.
Philip Niemann
Test Engineering
Computer Engineer
Web Development
Philip is a computer engineer with experience in developing web applications and hardware test interfaces using C# .Net, MVC, JQuery, and SQL databases. He has a broad background including working with large and complex software systems, systems engineering and requirements analysis, and programming and integrating hardware solutions with software to provide design verification for a complex testing and analysis system. His combined hardware and software experience/education brings the ability to troubleshoot system issues quickly and analye the two sometimes disparate approaches of actual testing vs. simulation testing to problem solving. Philip also loves outdoor experiences, especially when shared with his wife Rachelle.
